Our lawyers have extensive experience in providing advice on a range of e-commerce activities to FTSE 100 organisations, as well as to innovative e-business start-up companies. Previous work has included: B2B and B2C terms and conditions; e-commerce regulatory compliance; web design and hosting agreements; data protection and cryptography advice.

Not only does Technology Law Alliance work for innovative start-up businesses in the e-commerce field the firm also helps established business move to e-commerce platforms. For example, we assisted a leading logistics company in bringing its e-commerce systems right up to date. The firm was involved as a trusted adviser from an early stage in the contracts to implement an enterprise wide e-commerce system.
The new system was designed to deal with the entire business process from the point of order, through to tracking parcel deliveries (internally and via a customer portal), and integration with PDA systems in the field. The contract and legal advice involved advising on several different related contracts, including hosting contracts and service levels for back office systems. The risk to the client of the system not working were potentially business threatening so we carefully negotiated a sensible but protective contract for them, helping to ensure the supplier delivered the project on time and to specification.
